The Institute for the Study of Rural Banking and Financial Markets is a research outreach function of The University of South Dakota School of Business.  The stated goals of the Institute are:

• To provide an environment for scholarly investigation of the rural economy and financial sector;

• To provide a laboratory for the training of undergraduate and graduate students on the economies of the rural financial sector;

• To encourage the development of new ideas for the advancement of innovation and technology in the industry.
