that is advertised as being appropriate for a Trigonometry course is

EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
Homework: Homework
problems will be and collected weekly on Mondays.
QUIZZES: Quizzes will be given in-class when the
instructor sees fit.
TESTS: Attendance is required at all tests
and final. A make-up test (or final) due
to an emergency, illness, or University sponsored activity is possible provided
the following conditions are satisfied:
the student notifies the instructor prior to the scheduled test; the
student provides documentation (as required) of their absence; and the student
takes the make-up test within a reasonable amount of time as determined by your
instructor. If these conditions are not
satisfied, your test score may be reduced by 10% per school day. A make-up test may be different and more
challenging than the original test.
GRADING: Any missed homework
assignments, quizzes, test grades, or final will be given a zero. All zeros will be included when calculating
your grade. The student will be assigned
a letter grade in the course based on homework, quizzes, unit tests, and a
comprehensive final.

ADA STATEMENT: Any student who feels s/he may need academic
accommodations or access accommodations based on the impact of a documented
disability should contact and register with Disability Services during the

and coordination of appropriate and reasonable accommodations. Students currently registered with Disability
Services must obtain a new accommodation memo each semester. Ernetta L. Fox,
Director, Disability Services, Room 119 Service Center (605) 677-6389, Web

FREEDOM IN LEARNING: Under Board of Regents and University policy student academic
performance may be evaluated solely on an academic basis, not on opinions or
conduct in matters unrelated to academic standards. Students should be free to
take reasoned exception to the data or views offered in any course of study and
to reserve judgment about matters of opinion, but they are responsible for
learning the content of any course of study for which they are enrolled.
Students who believe that an academic evaluation reflects prejudiced or
capricious consideration of student opinions or conduct unrelated to academic
standards should contact Associate Dean Kurt Hackemer
to initiate a review of the evaluation.
The final
examination policy of the College of Arts and Sciences:
Permits deviations from the announced final exam schedule only if the
dean approves, on the basis of a departmental chair recommendation at least two
weeks prior to the end of the semester.
Prohibits examinations five days prior to the final exam period, unless a
required final exam is also given at the prescribed time. (Note:
If no comprehensive final exam is given, the scheduled final exam time
can be used for the last test.)
Permits a student with four or more examinations scheduled on the same
day, to reschedule on or more of those final exams. The intent is for no student to have to take
more than three examinations on the same day.
COURSE SCHEDULE:
Your instructor reserves the right to modify the schedule as needed to meet the
