My name is Michelle Rogge Gannon. I work at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion as an instructor in the English Department. You can view web pages I've created for my classes if you like. |
I am also one of the faculty advisors for The Vermillion Literary Project, an organization of USD students who are dedicated, literary-minded, and--a little bit nuts to do all of the work that they do for the VLP.
This summer, I participated in the Dakota Writing Project's summer institute, a wonderful workshop for teachers, focusing on writing and the teaching of writing. And I recently published a webtext (article) in Kairos: A Journal for Teachers of Writing in Webbed Environments (click on "CoverWeb: Hypertext Fiction and Poetry" link). A few years ago, my short story "Iowa Basketball" was published in the literary e-zine InterText as well. And in March of 1997 I also published a review of several NCTE-Chicago sessions in Kairos: A Journal for Teachers of Writing in Webbed Environments. You'll find my review in the "Conference Roundup" section. In the summer of 1995, USD Press published my book Ceaseless Explorer: Conversations with Joseph Spies. (And I'm darned proud of that!)
I am the proud mother of a little boy named Benjamin, who is a member of the Yankton Children's Choir. I am also the wife of Thomas C. Gannon, who has an incredible web site you'll want to check out.
