Short Story Contest

It would be horrible to miss the VLP Short Story Contest

Saturday, Oct. 24th, 2009

Noon-3p.m.

McKusick Technology Center

Room 101, USD Campus

You could win BIG BUCKS for writing a great short story!

The winning story will be published in the 2010 VLP Magazine and earns a whopping $200 prize. The second-place story will also be published in the magazine and snags a $50 gift certificate from Lied used bookstore, Vermillion.

The contest is open to anyone. Contestants should arrive no later than 11:45 a.m.at the McKusick Technology Center, Room 101.Computers will be available, but you can also handwrite your story. For a USD/Vermillion campus map, visit http://www.usd.edu/about-usd/campus-map.cfm

The catch? Contestants are given a theme, word, or phrase not revealed until the contest begins. Contestants must then write their entire story-start to finish-on-site in 3 hours, with the theme figuring prominently in the story.
