Writers and artists are invited to submit original, previously unpublished works for possible publication in the VLP's annual VLP Magazine.
Send up to TWO short stories or creative non-fiction essays, up to FIVE poems, and up to FIVE black-and-white drawings or photographs. Preference is given to works with a South Dakota connection, however esoteric.
Email text submissions are preferred. Send text submissions as Word or rtf attachments and artwork as high-resolution jpg files to projlit@usd.edu. Or, you can mail submissions to the address below. You can also drop them off in the USD English Dept. All text submissions should be typed; prose should be double-spaces. Manuscripts and artwork are submitted at the author's/artist's own risk. Manuscripts will not be returned and will be recycled; artwork will not be returned unless accompanied by a SASE. Payment for accepted work is on copy of the 2011 VLP Magazine. Deadline for submissions: December 30, 2011.
IMPORTANT: We use a blind submission process (the editorial staff doesn't know who submitted work), so please give your name and contact information on a SEPARATE page - NO NAMES OR CONTACT INFO SHOULD APPEAR ON THE SUBMISSIONS THEMSELVES or the submissions will be disqualified.
