I am a Professor of Theatre at the University of South Dakota, where I have served on the faculty since 1974, including thirteen years as chair of the department.  My education included two degrees from the University of Illinois (UIUC, 1966 and 1967) and the PhD from the University of Denver (1974). I teach in the areas of theatre history/dramatic literature, playscript analysis, acting Shakespeare, and directing; I regularly direct and occasionally act in our production season. In addition, I was associated with the Black Hills Playhouse as a director and sometime actor for nearly thirty years. Feel free to review my Curriculum Vita or to look at very dated family pictures.
