Welcome to the Moyer-Collier Family Homepage

Ronald L. Moyer
Vermillion, SD 57069

After growing up in central Illinois, studying at the Universities of Illinois (B.A., M.A.) and Denver (Ph.D.), and teaching at the Calumet Campus of Purdue University, I joined the theatre faculty at the University of South Dakota in 1974. The above and following are old pictures, but. . . .

In 1988 Caitlin F. Collier and I married (on Shakespeare's traditional birthday). After several years of practice as an attorney in Vermillion and Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and as business manager of a church in Sioux City, Iowa, Caitlin is now free-lances as an attorney, office manager, and lobbyist, while pursuing hobbies as an organic gardener and distance bicyclist.  She is an ordained Episcopal Deacon, nearing completion of her M.Div. at the Vancouver School of Theology.  Extensively active in community affairs, she has also served in the South Dakota House of Representatives (Dem., Dist. 17).  Hailing from Fayetteville, Arkansas (yes, her mother is good friends with good friends of the Clintons), she has resided in South Dakota since 1976.

We are grateful to be parents of our daughters Kelsey Collier-Wise and Elizabeth Moyer . Kelsey, now married to Royce Miller and again residing in Vermillion, holds a BA in English from the University of Minnesota--Twin Cities and is currently a student in the University of South Dakota School of Law.  Elizabeth is a senior at Vermillion High, where she is involved with oral interpretation and Thespian activities (and they look a lot different now than they did when these pictures were taken). They have named our two dogs and three cats Will Shakespeare, Ophelia, Juliet, Oswald, and Che.
