Dr. Srinivasan Ragothaman is a Professor of Accounting and the Accounting Internship Coordinator at the U.  He holds an MS  in Business Administration from Iowa State University  and a Ph.D. in Business (Accounting Emphasis) from the University of Kansas.  He is also a Chartered Accountant.  Dr. Ragothaman joined the U. in 1991.  His teaching experience (at graduate and undergraduate levels) includes: Auditing, Accounting Systems, International Accounting, and Principles of Financial and Managerial Accounting.  A two-time Governor’s Teaching with Technology award winner, he also received recently  an Outstanding Teaching Award based on student input.  Prior to joining academia, he worked in various managerial positions including as Programmer, Audit Senior, Internal Auditor, and Accountant for large businesses for  8 years.

Dr. Ragothaman is active in research and has published over 30 research articles in refereed journals including: Issues in Accounting Education, Journal of Forensic Accounting, Journal of Emerging Technologies in Accounting, International Journal of Intelligent Systems in Accounting, Finance & Management, Expert Systems with Applications, Advances in Accounting, Quarterly Journal of Business and Economics, Information Systems Frontiers, Human Systems Management, Heuristics: the Journal of Intelligent Technologies, International Journal of Applied Quality Management, Journal of Education for Business, Business Journal, New Review of Applied Expert Systems and Emerging Technologies, International Journal of Management, AT Business Management Review, South Dakota Business Review and others.  Recipient of numerous research grants,  Dr. Ragothaman has made over 40 presentations at national and regional conferences over the years.  Dr.  Ragothaman has been very active in the University governance through his extensive service on several department, college, and university level committees.  He is the advisor to Beta Alpha Psi.  He has been on the Editorial Review Board of Issues in Accounting Education.

Dr. Ragothaman is a strong supporter of Coyote football and basketball.   He enjoys playing chess with his two daughters. He loves traveling with his family,  listens to classical (Indian Carnatic) music, and watches some college football - Coyotes and Jayhawks.  A die-hard Jayhawk basketball fan, he has spring in his steps when March madness arrives! His favorite novelists are Patricia Cornwell, John Grisham, Mary Higgins Clark, and Robin Cook.
